It's Christmas day ....

... And so I snuck off to Whitty for a couple of hours in the morning. It was quiet in the car park and the paths were very wet & muddy - we really need some hardcore for the paths. So I just went to the Feeder Hide and there were the usual suspects.

Robin
Great, Blue and Willow tits
Goldfinch
Chaffinch
Reed bunting
Treecreeper
Pheasant
Dunnock
Great spotted woodpecker

and best of all a Nuthatch so it looks as though they are back after the loss of one of the pair last year. Unfortunately the light was really poor and even with the camera set to ISO800 I couldn't get a really sharp photo but I'll be back.

One good thing about the cool damp weather, there's some nice fungi around at the moment
